Senior Lead & Zinc Commodity Analyst & Trader

JOB DUTIES: Buy and sell current and future mine production and set long and short term company-wide trading strategies for zinc, lead, and associated by-products. Generate, create and execute trading concepts, including, but not limited to, long or short positions, toll positions, quality swaps, geographic swaps, and various hedging positions to manage our risk and continually expand and improve our position in the domestic and global market. Initiate contact with our mining and smelting counterparts to execute strategies and conclude deals. Interact with hedging, treasury, and traffic departments to ensure the smooth execution of strategies. Approximately 1 week foreign and/or domestic travel per month.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geology or related field or foreign degree equivalent and 10 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate non-ferrous process metallurgy experience, of which 5 years (minimum) must have been working for either a Lead and or Zinc mining or smelting company. Candidate must have experience in logistics and international ocean shipping of hazardous materials and the import/export laws governing them; experience performing in-depth process analysis and financial calculations; world metal commodity markets experience including price risk management and the creation of value for suppliers and customers by negotiating win-win solutions.
